Having made the decision to move from London to Bruton, I would never have guessed what a creative haven I was entering. I opened Caro, a little shop of covetable objects, from our home on Quaperlake Street in 2015 and was overwhelmed with the variety of friendly and talented people that walked through the doors. 2 years later, Caro moved to the High Street and our home was able to grow and encourage new ventures, large and small.

9 Quaperlake Street was originally a Bakers. We have the remnants of the old bread oven in our kitchen. The outbuilding in the garden was a tired shed when we moved in, with a tin roof and little else. It's been our pleasure to turn it into an open and minimal space with a B&B upstairs and a private courtyard leading to Grove Alley. West facing, the natural light floods in creating a serenity to contemplate and create.
